LIBER’s work is directed by an Executive Board.
The 13 library professionals who serve on the Board are responsible for overseeing our strategy and activities.
Under the Executive Board are several Steering Committees, Working Groups and Fora.
- Steering Committees – Each of our three Steering Committees (Scholarly Communication and Research Infrastructures, Reshaping the Research Library and Advocacy and Communications) works on one of LIBER’s Strategic Priorities.
- Working Groups – Members of our Working Groups support the Steering Committees and are dedicated to specialised topics such as copyright and leadership.
- Fora – LIBER has an Architecture Forum and a Digital Cultural Heritage Forum.
Work done by the Board and Finance Committee, our Steering Committees, Working Groups and Fora is reported through this website, in LIBER mailings and at the Annual Meeting of LIBER Participants, held every year at LIBER’s Annual Conference.
LIBER also has an Appointments Committee, which oversees staff appointments and other related staff matters. Membership comprises the President, Vice-President, Secretary-General and Treasurer, with the Executive Director in attendance. The Committee meets annually during the October Executive Board meeting, and at other times if required.
Our Conference Programme Committee is chaired by the LIBER Vice-President and co-ordinated by the Executive Director. It is responsible for preparing the professional programme for LIBER Annual Conferences. LIBER Participants interested in serving on the Committee are invited to contact Jeannette Frey, Vice-President or Susan Reilly, Executive Director.
