After the success of the initial FOSTER project on open science training, we are happy to announce that the followup-project, FOSTER Plus, kicked off on the 22nd of May.
Twenty people from 11 different institutions came together in Guimarães, Portugal, to discuss a wide range of topics and ensure a smooth start. The main goal of FOSTER Plus is to train researchers for more practical adoption of Open Science.
Project Outline
The FOSTER Plus project builds on the existing FOSTER portal and training materials that were developed in the first FOSTER project.
FOSTER Plus will develop more advanced-level and discipline-specific materials that support the practical adoption of open science. Materials that will be delivered include a multi-module toolkit that covers topics ranging from research data management to responsible research and innovation, and open peer review.
The content will be co-developed with disciplinary partners in the life sciences, social sciences and humanities. In addition to online training, the project will organize face-to-face training and workshops. A trainer bootcamp will equip young high-potential researchers to deliver courses on open science within their own institution or discipline.
LIBER’s Role
LIBER is involved in the workpackages on open science training and outreach and advocacy. We will lead the task of organising the open science trainer bootcamp, the trainers network and community engagement.
