Simone is Head of International Projects at LIBER, and brings 15 years of experience in academic libraries and research centers to the role.
In his career he led information management, R&D and outreach programs focused on the technologies, policies, and best practices that support the long–term stewardship, access, and impact of digital research outputs and digital cultural heritages. In his current position he heads the portfolio of projects in which LIBER participates.
Before joining LIBER, Simone was Head, Scholarly Communication Services at Columbia University in the City of New York, USA, and formerly Systems Librarian and Digital Repository Manager at the University of Bologna, Italy.
Simone holds a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a Graduate Certificate in Open Source Software Science and Technology from the University of Bologna, Italy, and a Masters Degree in Library Science from the University of Parma, Italy.
