8th Communia Workshop, Istanbul, Turkey
The COMMUNIA European Thematic Network is the international point of reference for theoretical analysis and strategic policy discussion of existing and emerging issues concerning the public domain in the digital environment.
Funded by the European Commission within the eContentplus framework, the 3-year long COMMUNIA project aims to provide policy guidelines that will help each stakeholder involved – public and private, from the local to the European and global level.
Özyeğin University, the first and only Turkish member of COMMUNIA, is hosting the 8th COMMUNIA workshop in Istanbul on April 19-20, 2010. The workshop is being organized by Özyeğin University (Turkey), Intellectual Property Institute (Slovenia), Creative Commons (USA) and the NEXA Centre for Internet & Society (Italy).
The workshop will convene leading experts, practitioners and all interested parties to explore success stories, best practices, current projects, legal obstacles and technical issues. With special attention, given that the workshop will be held on the Bosphorus, given to the Turkish and Middle-Eastern scenarios, vibrant areas where the open educational movement might soon score important successes.
