A LIBER Regional Event will take place on 3 November at the National Library in Greece. Under the title Shared Library Infrastructures in Europe, this half day event will focus on the recent developments of shared library infrastructures in Europe and will explore how libraries partner together to provide shared services.
The topic of shared infrastructures is critical in the new LIBER strategy for the unfolding of the qualities that LIBER wants its member libraries to have in 2022. It is strongly related to the reasonable and responsible resource allocation, robust governance, development of digital skills of librarians and has a strong effect on research data management, cloud services for open science, sustainability of open access publishing, collective operations in networking libraries, etc.
Participants will have the chance to see what the new strategy includes for shared infrastructures, and to open a dialogue for the refinement of specific actions.
Call for Participation
We are seeking inspirational cases that show how libraries in Europe address such issues on various topics, such as governance, policy, technical aspects, etc. Presenters should be ready to interact and to engage in break out sessions with the participants.
A short abstract of the presentation, minimum 300 words, can be send to Dr. Giannis Tsakonas by 20 September in rtf, docx or odt format.
This event is free to attend but there are only 50 places available and registration is needed. Details on how to register will be announced shortly. After the event, a tour in the new premises of the National Library of Greece will be offered.
The event is organised by:
