LIBER Quarterly is LIBER's open access e-journal. It was preceded by the following publications:
Between 1971 and 1990 LIBER published its Bulletin (ISSN: 0304-0224). In 1991 this was replaced by a new periodical: European Research Libraries Cooperation: ERLC; the LIBER Quarterly (ISSN: 1018-0826) and starting with its 8th volume in 1998 its name simply became LIBER Quarterly (p-ISSN: 1435-5205). It became an online journal in 2003 and Open Access in 2008.
These journals can all be accessed freely from the following websites:
- Bulletin (vols. 1-37), European Research Libraries Cooperation: ERLC; the LIBER Quarterly (vols. 1-7) and LIBER Quarterly (vols. 8-17): http://www.digizeitschriften.de.
- LIBER Quarterly (vols. 9-…) (with ISSN 2213-056X): http://liber.library.uu.nl/index.php/lq.
Since 2008 LIBER Quarterly is an electronic publication only and its ISSN is 2213-056X. Its articles remain being grouped together in 4 quarterly issues, but new contributions appear continuously in its “Future” section.
Starting with volume 22 (2012) a new Editorial Board has been installed and a strict peer review has been applied to this journal. Articles of a descriptive or communicative nature can be submitted to the LIBER website, whereas LIBER Quarterly is restricted to innovative contributions based on good research or on a systematic approach, with a special emphasis on collaborative initiatives and library cooperation within Europe.
