SUMMARY:What’s next for SCOSS?
DESCRIPTION:Join the upcoming SCOSS-LIBER webinar to find out more about the future of SCOSS. \nWho Can Join?\nThis webinar is open to all, including RFOs and other funders, RPO, including universities and other academic institutions, societies, infrastructure providers, OA advocates, and researchers.\nSince its establishment in 2017, the Global Sustainability Coalition for Open Science Services (SCOSS) has supported eight Open Science Infrastructure services determined through a rigorous vetting process to be 1) crucial to an international researcher base, and 2) in need of financial support to secure a sustainable funding path.\n\nWith three pledging rounds launched, and over 3.3 million Euros raised for Open Science infrastructures, SCOSS has been consulting with the research community through the SCOSS survey launched in June 2021, followed by individual interviews and focus groups. This research has informed a strategy for the coming three years. As step one in this journey, the SCOSS Board worked with a consultant to gather global stakeholder feedback on how the Open Science community perceives SCOSS and situates it within the landscape of other Open Science Infrastructure initiatives. More than 200 respondents shared their views on what types of Open Science Infrastructure should be prioritized for funding sharing what criteria are taken into consideration when making such choices. The rich survey responses informed the SCOSS strategy, published earlier this month.\nDuring this webinar, SCOSS Board members will share the consultation results and walk us through how they shaped SCOSS’s strategic goals for the future. In a panel discussion, they will share their views on the consultation results and SCOSS’s priorities going forward. There will be good time for questions from the audience during a Q&A session.\n \nWhat You’ll Learn\n\nHow the scholarly community perceives ways of sustaining Open Science Infrastructure according to SCOSS survey results\nAbout SCOSS’s plans for the future and its strategic goals for the coming three years\nHow you can engage in creating a healthy OS ecosystem in which OS infrastructure can thrive\n\n \nAgenda\n\nWelcome\nPresentation of survey results and strategy\nPanel discussion\nQ&A\nNext steps\n\n \nPanelists\n\nMartin Borchert, University Librarian, University of New South Wales, SCOSS Board Chair\nVanessa Proudman, Director SPARC Europe, SCOSS Executive Group Chair\nAlwaleed K.
