SUMMARY:Cultural Heritage Threats and the Role of Citizen Engagement Inside and Outside Universities
DESCRIPTION:INOS is organising a webinar on cultural heritage protection and preservation in challenging times through active citizenship mobilisations inside and outside universities. The webinar will share examples of how individuals, physical and online communities have engaged with universities and cultural organisations in times of Ukrainian cultural heritage threat. Citizen engagement will be the key to understanding how social participation can be a game changer in community-based actions for cultural heritage.\nSpeakers \n\nJulia Pagel, Secretary General of the Network of European Museum Organisations (NEMO). Julia will showcase the “Museums support Ukraine” initiative\nAndreas Segerberg, Lecturer digital preservation at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. Andreas will present the “Saving Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Online” (SUCHO) initiative.\nVasyl Rozhko, expert in heritage rescue and heritage tourism in Ukraine. Vasyl will talk about the “Heritage Rescue Emergency Initiative” (HERI), Ukraine\nKaterina Zourou and Stefania Oikonomou, Web2Learn, who will present concrete examples of community- driven innovation for Ukrainian cultural heritage.\n\nWho can attend? \nThe webinar is open to everyone interested in cultural heritage protection and preservation under extreme conditions and how citizen engagement can be enhanced through cooperation between citizen communities and Higher Education Institutions.\nRegister here. \n\n
