SUMMARY:Real-World Data in Medical Research: Harnessing their Potential and Addressing Challenges with MES-CoBraD, RE-SAMPLE, and RETENTION
DESCRIPTION:The MES-CoBraD ( https://libereurope.eu/project/mes-cobrad/ ) project is attempting to build an expert system to help diagnose and treat complex brain disorders. The project is taking real-world data (RWD) from four sites across Europe and building a digital tool, utilising machine learning and analytics modules, supported by up with a complex data management architecture. Join MES-CoBraD and two other HORIZON projects on November 20th to understand how RWD can be used to advance medical research/healthcare. Library professionals, within and outside of the field of healthcare, can get up to date with state-of-the-art innovations in the use of RWD and data management capabilities.\nAbout the event\nMES-CoBraD will use this event to demonstrate our approach to recruiting and collecting data. They will also share strategies for using, reusing, extending, and expanding RWD within and beyond the current scope of the platform, while addressing privacy concerns, data management, and participant recruitment.\nRETENTION will look at sharing of data/models will be explored, with a focus on data harmonisation, interoperability, and the re-usability of the final solution, in the context of chronic heart failure.\nRE-SAMPLE will present how issues have been overcome in their project when dealing with GDPR and anonymisation to realise the potential of RWD.\nThe event is an opportunity for library professionals, within and outside of the field of healthcare, to get up to date with state-of-the-art innovations in the use of RWD and data management capabilities. Each project will highlight a different angle on research data management and the practical capabilties of real-world data.\nThis event is the second in a series of webinars from MES-CoBraD, RE-SAMPLE, and RETENTION. To watch the first event, which served as an introduction to the three projects and outlines their overlapping aspects, follow this link ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2m2TqCC4Xo ).\nWho can attend\nThe webinar is free and open to all, especially those with an interest in research data management, real-world data, and data science practices. Although focused on the innovative use of RWD in healthcare, this webinar offers an opportunity for interested parties from all fields to get up to date with the latest practices in research data management.\nRegistration\nRegister to book your place.\n	Register\n	\n
