The LIBER Executive Board met at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, for its annual October Executive Board meeting. During the meeting, the following topics were discussed:
European Projects and Activities
The Board discussed Horizon2020 project in which LIBER will be involved. This included OpenAire2020, commencing in January 2015, and as part of which LIBER will run a Gold open access pilot. The LIBER response to the Science 2.0 Consultation was also discussed. It was agreed that the accompanying LIBER Statement on Enabling Open Science should be promoted to LIBER Participants (i.e. members).
Steering Committee Work
The three LIBER Steering Committee Chairs reported on the excellent progress that is being made by each of the Steering Committees and their Working Groups. Highlights included the publication of the 11 Case Studies on Research Data Management, development of key messages on copyright, and the launch of the ‘LIBER Journées’ for Directors (2015) to be held in Sciences Po, Paris, on 20 to 22 May 2015.
LIBER Annual Conference
The results of the Annual Conference Survey were analysed. The LIBER 2014 Annual Conference in Riga received a very high overall satisfaction rating. The theme for the LIBER 2015 Annual Conference was agreed and will be announced shortly.
It was noted that LIBER now has a number of Memoranda of Understanding with other organisations. The Board agreed that now that these relationships have been established, opportunities for collaboration and joint actions should now be explored.
