Cécile Swiatek is Deputy Director at the Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas academic library in Paris, France.
She is particularly involved with pedagogy, HE digital innovation, Skill issues. She is engaged on both professional and users training services. She was previously in charge of Law, Economics, Management and Journalism collections in Paris II. Before that, she was Collection manager in Medicine Science and Technology at the BUPMC – Université Paris6 academic library – and head of medical and computer science research sections.
In 2014 she joined the IFLA Lyon national committee. She is an active member of various French libraries associations, and is a Governing Board member of the French National university and research libraries (ADBU) where she is in charge of the Pedagogy and Documentation Committee.
Cécile Swiatek has been deeply involved since 2010 in LIBER where she currently represents the French Librarians Association (ABF).
Working on a European level is natural for academic libraries. This is where decisions are made, and where libraries must find their balance and leverage.
