The Fiesole Collection Development Retreat Series
Fiesole 2011 to be held at the National Library of Russia, St. Petersburg, Russia
The Fiesole Collection Development Retreat Series is holding its 13th Retreat at the National Library of Russia, St. Petersburg in May 2011. Originally inspired by Mario Casalini and The Charleston Conference, the Fiesole Retreats are an international series of annual small meetings devoted to issues of collection development that aim at bringing together decision makers from libraries, publishers and intermediary organizations in an informal and highly conversational setting.
What is the likely shape of the library of the future?
And how do we build collections for it?
Speakers will include Janice Pilch of the University of Illinois, Vasiliy Terletsky of COPYRUS, YS Chi of Elsevier, Alexander Kuznetsov of NEICON, and Rachel Frick of DLF, among others. Sessions will be held at the National Library of Russia and at the Grand Hotel Europe. Favourable rates at the Grand Hotel Europe have been negotiated for conference participants.
Further information, including the preliminary programme, registration and hotel accommodation forms, is available online at http://digital.casalini.it/retreat/retreat_2011.html; the complete repository from past meetings can be found at the Casalini Libri website.
