ReCreating Europe Webinar – The Regulatory Landscape for Copyright Content Moderation: Evaluation and Future Trajectories

This webinar is hosted by one of our projects, reCreating Europe, and will address the current status and future avenues for copyright content moderation in EU law, including a discussion on the rules of liability for online content-sharing service providers.

 

Learning outcomes

The webinar will provide attendants with an overview, update ,and critical discussion of the following key topics:

  • Recent developments at EU level surrounding copyright content moderation in the context of art. 17 copyright in the Digital Single Market (CDSM) Directive (2019/790) and recent Court of Justice case law;
  • The status quo of platform liability and the status of the national implementations of art. 17 CDSM Directive in different Member States (Germany, Hungary, Italy, Sweden) and the potential impact of these on the liability of platforms and content moderation rules;
  • Potential avenues for the regulation of copyright content moderation in the EU, the balancing of competing rights and interests, and their impact on access to culture.
