Nicola De Bellis is head of the Bibliometric Office at the University of Modena & Reggio Emilia (Italy), where he also works as a contract professor in library and information science for the Department of Biomedical Sciences.
He holds a master’s degree in philosophy and a PhD in history of science. His main area of activity is the development and analysis of quantitative indicators of research productivity and impact at the individual and institutional level. In this domain he does a lot of formal and informal teaching and collaborates, among others, with the staff of the European Summer School of Scientometrics (ESSS).
