The Final Report from the Blue Ribbon Task Force called “Sustainable Economics for a Digital Planet: Ensuring Long-term Access to Digital Information” is available online.
The Report is the result of a two-year effort focusing on the critical economic challenges of preserving an ever-increasing amount of information in a world gone digital. It cites several specific Organizational, Technical, Public Policy and Education and Public Outreach recommendations for decision makers and stakeholders to consider as they seek economically sustainable preservation practices for digital information.
The report will be launched at the Task Force’s upcoming symposium to be held on 1 April in Washington D.C., and later on 6 May, at the Wellcome Collection Conference Centre, in London.
