Andrea Mervik is a librarian at the Libraries of the Joint Faculties of Humanities and Theology at the Lund University in Sweden.

In her role, she supports researchers and doctoral students in navigating data protection, copyright, and ethical aspects of handling research data. As a member of the library network’s copyright expert group at Lund University, Andrea contributes to strengthening scholarly communication in line with evolving legal frameworks and institutional policies.

Her interests lie in the intersection between law, policy, and the practical realities of conducting research. Apart from working actively to promote sustainable research practices, she is particularly engaged in exploring how copyright—both its potential and its limitations—shapes knowledge production.
