Vacancy – Communication Intern at LIBER

Posted: 13-07-2022

Do you love books and writing in the English language? And would you like to do your internship in a unique library setting in the international city of The Hague?

LIBER — Europe’s largest network of research libraries — has an exciting opportunity for an intern who is interested in non-profit communication as well as in topics relating to research/libraries/science/education, and who wants to be actively involved in engaging with our community

Temporarily closed due to a high number of applicants

Objectives and Timeframe

This internship is suitable for students based/registered in the Netherlands. The successful candidate will work with the LIBER team to help us reach the goals of our 2023-2027 Strategy. Specifically, the intern will support the promotion of our Annual Conference (5-7 July 2023), which will take place in Budapest, Hungary. The intern will also be engaged in a range of communication/marketing activities (social media, website support, mailing campaigns etc.) as well as general network outreach. As a result, the successful candidate will extensively learn about communication/marketing in an international NGO. Support from other members of the LIBER team will be given to the intern regularly.

Period: We aim to have an intern for a minimum of 3 months – from the beginning of April to after the conference has concluded in mid-July. There is potential to continue working for us as an intern after the summer holiday as well (depending on the applicant’s internship requirements). We are flexible about the overall duration of the internship. We also offer flexible working hours which suit your university/studying schedule and other commitments.

“My internship at LIBER gave me the opportunity to put the knowledge from my studies into practice and gain hands-on experience of social media management and content creation. Working for a European NGO like LIBER taught me valuable skills and gave me a clearer idea of what to expect after university. The internship was a great experience, and the many things I learned during my time at LIBER will definitely help me in my future career!”

— Bridget Schuiling, Student at Erasmus University in Rotterdam
