Welcome to the June 2025 LIBER Mailing
This mailing is sent directly to LIBER Libraries and is posted publicly on the LIBER website. Please feel free to share this mailing with others.
Dear participants, members and friends of LIBER,
Welcome to the June 2025 LIBER Mailing.
The first half of the year has almost flown by, and we’re now just a month away from the 54th LIBER Annual Conference, taking place from 2-4 July in Lausanne, Switzerland. With a renewed programme structure, we hope you enjoy many of the sessions we have in store. Among them is the Meeting of Participants, a key session where our organisation and Participants come together to discuss all things LIBER, and where members can actively exercise their rights.
In this issue of the Quarterly Mailing, you will find the agenda and papers for the Meeting of Participants. Please register yourself as the official representative of your institute in the conference registration system or vote by proxy. More information about the voting procedure can be found below.
Kind regards,
Anja Smit
LIBER Secretary General

MEETING OF PARTICIPANTS
On Thursday, 3 July, the annual Meeting of Participants (MoP) will be held in Lausanne, Switzerland, during the LIBER Annual Conference. You can find the agenda for the 2025 Meeting of Participants here. The following papers are now available online as well:
Meeting of Participants 2025: How to Vote
All Participants from the Institution and Organisation categories are welcome to vote on issues to be discussed at the Meeting of Participants, taking place on Thursday 3 July 2025 during the Annual Conference. Participants unable to vote in person at the Annual Conference can vote by proxy. The application form to do so can be found here.
If you are the official representative of your organisation and have the right to vote, please indicate this in the registration form for the 2025 LIBER Annual Conference. You will receive your voting slips at the registration desk.
Meeting of Participants 2025: Call for Tellers
The Executive Board member elections are overseen by two LIBER Participants, tellers, to help ensure and verify the accuracy of the voting result. Each year, we rely on two volunteers to support this process. If you are interested in assisting with the upcoming Executive Board elections or have any questions, please reach out to the LIBER Secretary-General Anja Smit via email.
Supportive Membership Programme
In 2025, 21 libraries stepped forward for the Supportive Membership Fee (SMF) Programme. These contributions included an additional premium, replacing the standard membership fee.
These outstanding contributions support the work of LIBER and enable us to carry on our mission in fostering a powerful research library network in Europe and enhancing the work of library and information professionals across our community. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all institutions that took part in this year’s campaign.
We’re pleased to inform that the SMF Programme will return for the year 2026. We hear our Participants’ wishes, as voiced at the Meeting of Participants 2024, and will launch the campaign earlier than previous years. This way, you can opt for Supportive LIBER Membership as early as June 2025 – stay tuned for more details!
LIBER Annual Conference 2025 in Lausanne
Our next Annual Conference will be taking place at Bibliothèque cantonale et universitaire Lausanne from the 2-4 July 2025 in Lausanne, Switzerland. After reaching full attendee capacity, the registrations closed before the official deadline. We thank all who registered and look forward to welcoming you to Lausanne this July!
Start planning your conference days and explore this year’s programme, centred around this year’s theme ‘Engage, collaborate, innovate: libraries working to address global challenges’.
