Maria Cassella

Librarian Coordinator, University of Turin

Maria Cassella is Librarian Coordinator at the University of Turin. She is the author of manifold papers on the digital library, open science and citizen science issues; at the moment Maria is also interested in developing projects and practices of public engagement to reach out to new areas of the public of research libraries.

In the past, Maria was a member of the IFLA Statistics and Evaluation Working Group and was Chair of the Commissione Nazionale Università e Ricerca of the Italian Libraries Association. Since the beginning of the Open Access movement, Maria has been committed to advancing open access in scholarly communication.

Open Science is a big challenge for libraries but one of the most relevant ones, I believe. Hereafter, my decision to join the LIBER OA WG.
