Introducing the ECHOES project
The ECHOES project aims to set up the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage (ECCCH). When complete, the ECCCH will be a shared platform to facilitate collaboration among heritage professionals and researchers, enabling them to modernise their workflows, and processes.
This platform will offer access to data, cutting-edge scientific, and training resources, and advanced digital tools, all developed collaboratively by the heritage community to meet their specific requirements. ECHOES will integrate the currently fragmented communities within the Cultural Heritage sector, bringing together diverse actors from various fields and disciplines into a cohesive community focused on the Digital Commons.
A vast consortium of the key cultural heritage players in Europe has come together to accomplish this goal, within the ECHOES framework. In total 51 organisations are working within the consortium, made up of 26 core beneficiaries, supported by 16 affiliated entities and 9 associated partners.
LIBER participates in the project as an affiliated partner. As opportunities to support the development of the ECCCH and its adoption by cultural heritage professionals arise, LIBER will seek to contribute to the achieving the aims of ECHOES.
ECHOES is funded by the European Union, starting earlier this year and will run for the next five years. LIBER will communicate updates about the project, highlighting key developments as they happen. You can also stay informed about the project via X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, and the project Newsletter.
