LIBER supports Executive Director Martine Pronk for a position on the Board of Directors of the EOSC Association.

Research libraries are deeply involved in Open Science, at both strategic and practical levels. For more than 20 years, they have supported Open Access, and are managing the connection with the publishing sector through national and international consortiums. Libraries are also service providers for publishing platforms in universities, as well as support – financially and in-kind – of the whole Open Science ecosystem.

Being spread through Europe, LIBER has the ability to deeply liaise with the academic community and bring expertise to the EOSC Board of Directors. LIBER has been part of the designing of the Open Science landscape in Europe and has experience in participating in and leading European projects and designing tailored partnerships. Our association and our professional community would be very beneficial to the EOSC-A Board of Directors, especially in a new phase where services need to be practically implemented.

LIBER is therefore fully supporting the candidacy of Martine Pronk, LIBER Executive Director, and encourages our members and partners who are members of the EOSC Association to join us in expressing their support. Read our full statement here.
