LIBER Emerging Leaders Cohort 7 off to a great start!
The successful LIBER Emerging Leaders Programme is currently underway for the 7th time under the direction of two new programme directors Niamh Tumelty and Tamara Szabo.
The programme kicked off with a first seminar in Lausanne, just before the LIBER Conference in early July. The seminar was a resounding success, with the participants brimming with positivity and enthusiasm about the programme afterwards. Tamara Szabo describes it wonderfully:
“Curiosity, connection, and sharing — these three words capture the spirit of the 2.5 days we spent together. From the very first moments, the new ELP cohort brought an openness and curiosity that was genuinely inspiring. And that curiosity? It’s one of the most important leadership qualities of our time — and this group has it in abundance.
It’s always something special to witness how quickly people in similar roles can connect, even if they’ve never met before. The energy and atmosphere were really positive. There was so much generous sharing of knowledge, experiences, and ideas — and by the time we wrapped up, we were all leaving with more than we came with. I think we all got a little hooked on the good things that unfolded during these days.
What’s next? Even more curiosity, connection, and sharing — in action learning sets and conversations with mentors.”
The Leadership Programmes Working Group are extremely grateful to all the Library leaders throughout Europe who have generously offered their time to be mentors for the Emerging Leaders participants. Without your kindness a vital component of the programme would be impossible to deliver. Thank you!
