LIBER welcomes new Emerging Leaders Programme Director Niamh Tumelty
The LIBER Leadership Programmes Working Group is delighted to announce that after a competitive process we have appointed Niamh Tumelty, Director of the London School of Economics and Political Science Library, as the next Emerging Leaders Programme Director. Niamh has a passion for developing herself and others which will greatly benefit generations of future library leaders throughout Europe. An alumna of the Programme, Niamh is brimming over with ideas for the future of the Programme while at the same time appreciating what has made it great. We are very excited and thrilled to have secured her as our new Programme Director.
Niamh’s role as Director of LSE Library includes the role of Managing Director of LSE Press, a publisher of high quality open access research in the social sciences. Her approach centres around the design of spaces, collections, policies and services based on deep understanding of the needs of differing disciplines, and she has a particular interest in what open social science would look like if designed from this perspective. Prior to joining LSE, Niamh was Head of Open Research Services (Associate Director) at Cambridge University Libraries and a Fellow of Newnham College.
As Programme Director, Niamh will work with a professional training consultant to shape and deliver the Programme. Recruitment for the consultant is in progress.
