In Lithuania we are trying to make, from our national libraries, real intellectual libraries which are based on data management. That’s why LIBER is so important to us. It’s a major organisation related to academic competencies which can help libraries progress to the next generation of activities. LIBER gives us an international network, and we try to implement what we see going on in other countries. It’s important to stay in contact with what is going on in the most significant libraries in Europe.”
