Winter Event 2021 in Amsterdam Cancelled

Winter Event Update:

It is with great disappointment that we are forced to cancel the upcoming LIBER Winter Event which was set to take place in Amsterdam on the 9th and 10th of December 2021.

The decision was taken to cancel the event due to increasing Covid-19 infections and new governmental regulations (highlighted during the Dutch government’s press conference on 12 November 2021). The new restrictions would make it exceedingly difficult to continue with the event in the way in which we had planned. More importantly, our priority lies with the health and safety of all participants.

Note that we seriously considered postponing the event especially since a lot of hard work has gone into its planning, not only from the LIBER Office and the local host (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) but of course also from our dedicated working group members and project partners. However, due to various LIBER events set to take place early next year, postponing the Winter Event would not be feasible. Coupled with that, certain sessions would not be able to be postponed to a later stage. Moreover, the overall uncertainty of the pandemic has made it particularly tricky to plan a postponement of an in-person event for early 2022.

Making this decision has not been easy and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the LIBER office via email: liber@libereurope.org.
