Just Launched: Library Buildings In Europe Website

Posted: 22-06-2020 Topics: Architecture

Are you planning a new library building project?  Are you looking for inspiration? Help? Advice?

LIBER and the LIBER Architecture Group (LAG) have today launched Library buildings in Europe, a website dedicated to inspiring and supporting anyone working on a library building project – a new building, an extension, a renovation, or a reworking of interior spaces.

The photos and accompanying details will enable those involved in such projects to pick up on new trends, to share knowledge and experience, and to learn from, and make contact with, each other.

Can We Feature Your Library?

LAG needs your help.  If you know of an inspiring library that is an exemplar of its kind, please tell us. The website includes national and university research libraries, libraries of institutions conducting teaching and research at a post-graduate level, public libraries with major research collections, and national archives.

You can email Ignasi Bonet Peitx or Karen Latimer, specifying the key data for the library: name, city / country, year of opening and website. A final decision on the projects to include will be made by members of the LIBER Architecture Group.

To publish the library, up to 12 good quality images should accompany the text. Please note that all images need to be licensed CC BY, in line with LIBER’s Open Access Publication Guidelines.

We look forward to seeing your exceptional libraries!
