Session V: Copyright and AI: Key Issues for Research Libraries

Hosted by the Copyright & Legal Matters Working Group

This session will provide a rapid overview of the copyright issues research libraries should be aware of as AI tools are developed, procured and embedded into scholarly content platforms. It will move from the wider legal uncertainty around AI training, outputs and institutional use towards the practical licensing questions now facing libraries: what rights are being granted or restricted, how AI clauses are appearing in publisher and supplier agreements, and what libraries should look for when reviewing licences, negotiating terms or advising their institutions.

Participation is open and free to all. The webinar will be recorded.
