LIBER Meets CC Signals
LIBER Meets CC Signals
This is an invitation only event. A recording of the session will be provided afterwards.
On June 24th, the Copyright and Legal Matter (CLM) Working Group is meeting with Brigitte Vézina, Director of Policy and Open Culture at Creative Commons, to discuss the CC Signals project and how it can support knowledge sharing in the AI ecosystem.
CC Signals was first released in June 2025 with a progress update published in April 2026. The CLM Working Group identified a need to better understand this initiative and the “third way” it proposes, providing a way to safeguard creators’ interests, while sustaining open culture.
The key question for the academic community is whether CC Signals can address some of our concerns around access, control, and responsible use of scholarly content.
