Data Analyst – Language and Text Data

Main Responsibilities:

  • Advising researchers in the field of corpus formation and analysis of written and spoken languages (main areas: text corpora, German and English, synchronous and diachronous)
  • Conception and supervision of the text-mining offers of the library
  • Care of Corpora spoken and written language
  • Cooperation and participation in research projects of the faculties and comprehensive research networks
  • Collaboration with the eResearch Alliance Göttingen team
  • Participation in the conception and implementation of third-party funded projects

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Completed academic studies (master or diploma) with proven experience in computational linguistics (eg natural language processing, text mining)
  • Relevant research experience
  • Independent mastery of current analytical instruments
  • Methodological understanding of the requirement for data regarding their reusability
  • Very good knowledge in the area of semantic web, RDF, XML data modeling, as well as current web standards and interfaces for data extraction

Reporting To: Heads of the Digital Library and Research and Development departments
