Data Analyst – Scientific Information

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conventional bibliometric and scientometric analyzes and inclusion of alternative and innovative approaches to research on efficacy in science
  • Design, operationalization, implementation and evaluation of studies using conventional and alternative metrics in the science system
  • Analysis of process and object data in the context of management electronic resources
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative studies on the development of the publication market, trend analyzes, usage analyzes
  • Participation in the development and supervision of the research information system of the University of Göttingen
  • Cooperation in the eResearch Alliance Göttingen team
  • Participation in the conception and implementation of third-party funded projects
  • Collaboration with the Department of Strategy Development and Controlling of the University

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Completed academic studies (master or diploma)
  • Proven analytical handling of process and object data
  • Understanding of the scientific system, its economic contexts and the publication market as well as the perspectives of its actors
  • Knowledge and own practice in statistics, bibliometrics, Data visualization, e.g. COUNTER, ‘R’, Stata, SUSHI protocol
  • Proven high IT affinity
  • Very good expression in writing and presentation
  • Good organizational skills, high communication and team skills as well as good command of spoken and written English

Reporting To: Head of department Information and Literature Supply / Central Acquisition and Development.
