Alicia Fátima Gómez has extensive professional and teaching experience in open science, research data, metrics and publishing and disseminating strategies. She has worked in the UK, Austria, Spain, as well as at European level. Additionally, she often provides support in Open Sciecen and RDM in Latin America.
She currently works as Library Director at IE University, in Madrid (Spain). Prior to that she was Head of Scientometrics and Data Visualization at the Wien (Technical University Vienna, in Austria), where she also led the DOI Service Austria Consortium, and, together with the Universität Wien, was co-lead of the ORCID Austria Consortium. Previously she worked at as a national contact point for Spain for OPENAIRE. From 2017 to 2019 she was Scholarly Communication Specialist at the University of Hertfordshire (UK), where she was responsible for providing support in research evaluation and impact, open access and research data management. Between 2004 and 2017 she worked at the Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares in Madrid (Spain), where she was responsible for the Library and Documentation Service.
Alicia F. Gomez holds a PhD in Linguistics from the University of the Basque Country, and a Master in Digital Libraries and Information Systems from the University of Carlos III, Madrid, Spain.
