As an Associate Librarian, Andrew Simpson oversees RCSI Library’s Education, Research & Clinical Support services including all areas of Open Research.

His role included the migration of the RCSI Repository to new software to enable a single repository for all item types and integration with a new CRIS; the creation of a post providing FAIR Data support, and monitoring and reporting of OA publications and performance.   

Andrew previously worked in the UK at University of Portsmouth where he established a service within the Library to support Open Research, and oversaw the migration and integration of the repository with a new CRIS. He has been an active contributor to Ireland’s National Open Research Forum, helping to develop Open Science policies and practice.
