Barbara van der Vaart joined LIBER as a Community Engagement and Training Officer as of August 2022. In this role, she aims to engage LIBER’s network with high-quality and impactful workshops, webinars, and training sessions.

Barbara has many years of experience in international project management and worked as a project coordinator and policy officer in academic research projects and governmental and international organisations. Before joining LIBER, she worked on two ERC Grant projects at Delft University and Leiden University. She obtained an MSc degree in Cultural Anthropology at Utrecht University, where she also studied Child and Adolescent Psychology.

Barbara looks forward to putting her enthusiasm and experience at the service of the LIBER community and working together to enable world-class research across Europe.
