Bernhard Schubert holds degrees in English and American Studies, German Philology, and Library and Information Science from the University of Vienna. He is deputy head of the Open Access Office at the University of Vienna and also works as a lecturer for descriptive cataloguing at the Vienna University Library and the University and State Library Tyrol. He has been active in the Open Access movement in Austria and beyond since 2015, with contributions to the “2021 Enhancement to the ESAC Workflow Recommendations” as well as the “ALPSP Toolkit to foster Open Access Agreements” and many talks on the subject in various contexts. His main interest currently lies in the area of scholar-led Diamond OA publishing.
