Diane Geraci

Director, Central European University Library

Diane Geraci is the Director of the CEU Library. She has expertise in collection development of digital and print information resources, traditional library operations and technologies, as well as in institutional repositories and archives, large-scale social science data archives, open access, and the changing scholarly communication environment.

Prior to CEU, Diane was co-interim director and associate director for information resources at the MIT Libraries; librarian for the social sciences at Harvard University; and held joint appointments as director of science libraries at the University of Michigan and faculty associate at the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR). She also held a visiting academic appointment at the UK Data Archive at the University of Essex, where she directed information systems and digital preservation. For 15 years, she co-taught a summer course at the ICPSR in providing social science data services.

Diane has served on the boards of U.S. and international organizations and initiatives dedicated to the advancement of library services, research data services, and repository and standards development. Most recently Diane served on the arXiv advisory board to develop a sustainability model for this open access, and was a member of the ORCID Board to develop an international, open source, researcher ID system for author identification and disambiguation.
