Dr Aleksandra Trtovac

Library Advisor, University Library "Svetozar Marković", University of Belgrade

Aleksandra Trtovac is a library adviser with a PhD from the University of Belgrade, specializing in metadata and information retrieval in digital libraries. She has worked for over two decades at the University Library “Svetozar Marković” in Belgrade, currently having position of Chief Catalog Editor (since 2008) and Digital Library Consultant (since 2012).

Additionally, she is the editor-in-chief of the Infotheca – journal for digital humanities (since 2022). She is also a consultant for the Ministry of Science of the Republic of Serbia in the domain of metadata in the Open Science system eScience (since 2023). Aleksandra has actively participated in numerous international and national LIS projects. She is dedicated to advancing LIS, promoting Open and Citizen Science, digital humanities, and preserving cultural heritage.

She generously shares her knowledge through lectures to librarians and LIS students in Serbia and the Balkan region. Also, she is the reviewer of several national and regional scientific LIS journals as well as books of proceedings.
