Aleksandra Trtovac, is a library adviser with an educational and a long-term professional background in Library and Information Science (LIS). She earned her PhD from the Faculty of Philology at the University of Belgrade, focusing on metadata and information retrieval in digital libraries.
She has been employed over two decades at the University Library “Svetozar Marković” in Belgrade, where she currently holds the positions of Chief Catalog Editor (since 2008) and Digital Library Consultant (since 2012). Additionally, she is the editor-in-chief of the Infotheca – journal for digital humanities (since 2022).
Throughout her career, Aleksandra has actively participated in numerous international LIS projects, including the D-READING – COST initiative, Europeana Newspapers, ADRION, and CeOS_SE, as well as various national Serbian cultural heritage digitization projects.
Her scholarly achievements encompass monographs and scientific articles, some of which are indexed in the SCI list. She generously shares her knowledge through lectures to librarians and LIS students in Serbia and the Balkan region.
Aleksandra is particularly motivated by her unwavering commitment to advancing the field of LIS, promoting open science, digital humanities, and preserving cultural heritage. She views LIBER as the ideal platform for learning and exchanging knowledge and experiences.
