Dr. Žibutė Petrauskienė

Žibutė Petrauskienė is Director of the Scholarly Communication and Technologies Department, Vilnius University Library, Lithuania. In 2008 she defended a thesis for a doctoral degree and became a doctor of Humanities, Communication, and Information.

She started her professional career at the Vilnius University Library as a senior librarian, and for several years she managed various departments of the Library. Since 2017 performs the duties of the Director of the Department. Žibutė has been awarded the title of the best Lithuanian librarian of 2017, and she has been awarded the prize by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania.

She is participating in creating and implementing VU Library’s scholarly communication measures and services, coordinating the disseminating of scientific information and access to the research production and research data of Vilnius University, and promoting and implementing initiatives of Open Science and Open Access. Žibutė is participating in various working groups at Vilnius University and the Ministry of Education Science and Sport, Lithuania, and was a member of the EU EOSC Landscape Working Group. She coordinated and participated in national projects (eLABa – The Lithuanian Academic Electronic Library; MIDAS – National Research Data Archive Information System). She is the leader of the international project EODOPEN (eBooks-On-Demand-Network Opening Publications for European Netizens) at Vilnius University.
