Holly’s role as Publication Practice Librarian at the University of Derby in the United Kingdom enables her to develop her passion for providing access to information by being involved with and helping to support and develop the research culture at the University of Derby and beyond.

She believes that information is a fundamental human right, and the main way in which she supports this is by raising awareness of Open Access and the Open Research landscape more widely. She drives this awareness forward through her current position at Derby and by being involved in discussion about the future of scholarly communication across the higher education sector. Holly is namely interested in contributing to the conversation around Diamond Open Access, the retention of author rights, and how a transition to Open Access can be achieved for the scholarly monograph. She is also invested in supporting the increased visibility of librarians and their contributions to supporting Open knowledge.
