Isidro’s research topic is webometrics, the quantitative analysis of the scholarly communication in the web. Since mid-nineties, he has described the presence in the web of universities and research-related organizations. During recent years he has targeted individual researchers in the social networks, studying the author profiles in tools like Researchgate or Google Scholar. He is also the editor of the Ranking Web of Universities, Research Centers or Repositories.
Librarians are already the largest bibliometric group. They are playing an important role in the future of scholarly communication and research evaluation, especially because they are strong supporters of open access initiatives.
