Jeannette Ekstrøm

Librarian - (teaching and outreach), Technical University of Denmark, Library

Jeannette Ekstrøm still feels fairly new to OER, but as a librarian having worked with promoting Open Access and the Open Science agenda for years now, she believes the next “Open” is for educational materials. And this “Open” is finally aimed at students too. Therefore, authors and teachers need to be educated and trained in how to consider using OER/ER – and also adding the right “open licencing” to their own material. Librarians/Libraries need to support them on “how to do”. As a “teaching librarians” we need to facilitate access, as well as to guide them to the curated information. OER/ER is more than “just textbooks” and videos. And in order for it to become “Open” – negotiations have to happen.

Her motto: Access is key, both to librarians as well as right information at the right time.
