Jeroen is Open Access Publishing Consultant for Utrecht University and has over 15 years of experience working in scholarly publishing. From 2007 to 2016 he worked as a commissioning editor for Amsterdam University Press. In the past years, he has gained lots of experience with open-access journals and monographs. From 2015 onwards he worked as an open-access publishing consultant for Utrecht University. In 2019 he was appointed as open access project leader within the UU Open Science program for three years.

Jeroen is a member of the Knowledge Exchange Open Access Group, the Dutch library consortium OA working group and the LIBER OA working group. From 2016 to 2021 he was editor for the national platform for open access – openaccess.nl.

In addition to these activities, Jeroen regularly publishes on developments in the field of open access and open science.
