Lena Berg

Lena Berg is head of the Decentral Libraries Department of the University Library of Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich, Germany.

After completing her masters degree in German language and literature studies, linguistics and communication sciences, she achieved an additional masters degree in library and information sciences at the Humboldt University in Berlin and started her career in libraries in 2015.

Lena has been involved in several library building projects in Munich (e.g. the University Library’s Philologicum in Munich, opened in 2019) and takes the chair of the building commission of the German Library Association.

Heading the Decentral Libraries Department in one of Germany´s largest University Libraries with 14 libraries and a large group of staff requires continuos change management and reorganisation according to changing customers´ needs and focusing on implementing new services.
