Rashmi Shetty is the Open Access Advisor within the Publishing Support Department at the Utrecht University (UU) Library (The Netherlands), with a special focus on books and humanities publishing. In this context, she is currently involved in the UKbsis national workgroup OA’s taskforce, developing guideline materials for librarians on supporting OA books and monographs. She places great importance on developing a value-based approach and vision for publishing, centering principles of equity, collaboration, and community-driven strategies. To this end, she is involved in creating policy and practical interventions to bolster bibliodiversity of research output at UU.
Prior to this role, she had a fulfilling year and a half with the Academic Publisher Brill as the Editor for Religious Studies books. Rashmi completed her Research Master in Religious Studies at Utrecht University (2021), with a focus on religion and new media. Her master thesis explored the role of memes in the Indian political and cultural context.
