Stefania Gkounela is Research Liaison Librarian at the University of Nicosia, where she supports faculty in Open Science and Open Access publishing. She manages the University’s institutional repository and maintains and updates research-related information in the University’s CRIS system, supporting the visibility and accessibility of the University’s research outputs. She also contributes to European Open Science initiatives, including OpenAIRE.

Stefania holds an MSc in Information Management in Libraries, Archives and Museums. Her thesis, “Study of Open Science in the Academic Environment: Framework, Adoption Policies, and Implementation Mechanisms,” examined the integration of Open Science practices in academic institutions.
Her research interests and scholarly work include the integration of Open Science in higher education, research assessment, and the development of innovative library services.
