Thomas Chaimbault-Petitjean

International Relationship Officer, Enssib

Thomas Chaimbault-Petitjean works as International Relationship Officer at Enssib, France’s national institution for Library and Information Science. At Enssib, he has been in a position to reflect deeply on changes in the profession.

He worked on Digital Issues and Innovation in Libraries when he created the digital department at the Châtenay-Malabry public library in 2004. After that, he managed the electronic resources at Savoie University Libraries, and has been employed at Enssib since 2008. There, he worked on Enssib’s digital library and, until mid-2021, was in charge of the academic librarians and curators’ training where he developed an online diploma in 2012. As of 1 September 2021, he works as an International Relationship Officer.

Thomas Chaimbault-Petitjean has been heavily involved in library associations: in 2014, he co-created the Légothèque Working Group at ABF which deals with diversity and inclusion. From 2019 to 2021, he was part of the Working Groups at both ADBU and the French Open Science Committee that specialise in the topic of development of competencies. He has been active in IFLA‘s Education and Training section as of 2019, and has been a member of the LIBER Leadership Programmes Working Group since the beginning of 2021.
