Is your research library actively working on topics such as copyright and the implications of incoming GDPR regulations? Would you like to share your expertise in this area with other library professionals across Europe?

If so, then please consider joining LIBER’s Copyright & Legal Matters Working Group.

Currently the group is focused on advocacy related to the EU Copyright Directive (writing letters, coordinating with other groups etc). Soon we will start work on Data Protection law, including running a GDPR Workshop at LIBER’s annual conference in Lille, France (4-6 July).

Why Join

  • Share your knowledge with like-minded professionals, and learn from their experiences
  • Help develop leading guidance, tools and resources related to copyright and legal matters
  • Expand your network as you engage and collaborate with colleagues from across Europe

Meetings

The group holds Skype meetings once a month and physical meetings twice a year.

Who Can Join

Anyone working in a LIBER library is invited to join. We particularly welcome applications from library staff based in southern and eastern Europe, as these areas are currently under-represented.

To share your interest in joining, please get in touch with the LIBER office.
