Save the Date – LIBER Annual Conference 2027

LIBER is thrilled to announce that the 56th LIBER Annual Conference will take place from 30 June to 2 July 2027 at the University of Essex Library in Colchester, England, UK.

In 2027, the LIBER Annual Conference will return to the United Kingdom for the first time in more than a decade. We are looking forward to gathering at the University of Essex, Albert Sloman Library in Colchester under the theme ‘Research Libraries as a Force for Knowledge Autonomy‘.

Welcoming LIBER 2027 Local Host

Participants of the LIBER Annual Conference 2026 were the first to hear the news: During the conference’s Closing Ceremony, the LIBER flag was formally passed from the 2026 host to the host of 2027, followed by a short interview. Representing NTNU University Library, Library Director Anna Løken handed over the flag to Jonathan White, Director of Library and Cultural Services and University Librarian from the University of Essex.
