The AI Act is a new regulation that aims to regulate the development and deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. This LIBER Copyright & Legal Matters Working Group hosted webinar will explore the implications of the AI Act for scientific libraries and how they can prepare for its implementation.
Maria Rehbinder (Senior Legal Counsel, Aalto University /Copyright Advisory Services of Art Universities/Finland) will present and discuss the key requirements from the AI Act. With a view on a German example, Judith Ludwig (General Counsel and License Manager, Technische Informationsbibliothek (TIB) Hannover/Germany) will give ideas how to navigate through the new legal landscape. Together with the attendees, the hosts would like to discuss the further impact of the AI regulations and its challenges and opportunities. In the end, attendees shall gain a deeper understanding of the AI Act and its implications for their library.
