WELCOMING OUR NEW MEMBERS
LIBER is thrilled to introduce its newest participants to the network. In the past months, we have welcomed:

MEETING OF PARTICIPANTS

On Thursday, 2 July, the annual Meeting of Participants (MoP) will be held in Trondheim, Norway during the LIBER Annual Conference. You can find the agenda for the 2026 Meeting of Participants here. The following papers are now available online as well:

Meeting of Participants 2025: How to Vote

All Participants from the Institution and Organisation categories are welcome to vote on issues to be discussed at the Meeting of Participants, taking place on Thursday, 2 July 2026 during the Annual Conference. Participants unable to vote in person at the Annual Conference can vote by proxy. The application form to do so can be found here.

If you are the official representative of your organisation and have the right to vote, please indicate this in the registration form for the 2026 LIBER Annual Conference. You will receive your closed ballot (voting slip) and MoP voting card at the LIBER desk, located in the registration area.

Information about the candidates can be found in the ‘LIBER Executive Board Elections July 2026‘ document above and on our website, here.

Meeting of Participants 2025: Call for Tellers

The Executive Board member elections are overseen by two LIBER Participants, tellers, to help ensure and verify the accuracy of the voting result. Each year, we rely on two volunteers to support this process. If you are interested in assisting with the upcoming Executive Board elections or have any questions, please reach out to the LIBER Secretary-General Anja Smit via email.

Supportive Membership Programme

In 2026, 15 libraries stepped forward for the Supportive Membership Fee (SMF) Programme. These contributions included an additional premium, replacing the standard membership fee.

These outstanding contributions support the work of LIBER and enable us to carry on our mission in fostering a powerful research library network in Europe. We warmly thank all institutions that participated in this year’s campaign, including both new and returning libraries.

We hereby inform that the SMF Programme will return for 2027. Following feedback from our members, enrolment for the programme is available earlier than the usual member invoicing period. Your library may therefore sign up starting immediately. To sign up, please fill in this form and return it to LIBERAdmin@libereurope.org.

LIBER Annual Conference 2026 in Trondheim

Our next Annual Conference will be taking place at NTNU University Library from 1-3 July 2026 in Trondheim, Norway. Since opening the registrations in early March, we have witnessed an incredible response from the research library and open science community. Joining us? Start planning your conference days and explore this year’s programme, centred around this year’s theme ‘The Power of Libraries in an Uncertain World’.

We look forward to welcoming you to Trondheim in a couple of weeks!

LIBER Annual Conference: Call for a Host

Could your library be the stage for an upcoming LIBER Annual Conference? The search is on and we’re looking for hosts for 2028 and beyond to bring together Europe’s research librarians and information professionals.

Have questions or want to express interest in hosting our field-leading research library conference? Please contact LIBER Executive Director Alexander Hasgall via email (alexander.hasgall@libereurope.org).
