Dear participants, members and friends of LIBER,
Only a few weeks to go before the LIBER Annual Conference, from 3 to 5 July in Limassol, Cyprus. Registration is open until 3 June, and if you have not done so already, take some time to finalise your plans and book your ticket. The conference will offer you inspiring presentations and ample time for networking and meeting old and new friends. During the conference, we also hold an important event on our calendar, the LIBER Meeting of Participants, where you can exercise your rights as Members.
In this issue of the May Mailing, you will find the agenda and papers for the Meeting of Participants. Please register yourself as the official representative of your institute in the conference registration system or vote by proxy. More information about the voting procedure can be found below.

We are pleased to announce that registrations for the LIBER 2024 Annual Conference taking place in Limassol, Cyprus, are still open.
Book your tickets today and join us at the Cyprus University of Technology in Limassol, from 3 to 5 July 2024. To remind you, our theme of this year’s Conference is ‘State-of-the-art libraries in the service of science and society.’

CONFERENCE DINNER
One of the highlights of every LIBER Annual Conference is the Conference Dinner. This year, the dinner is at Aphrodite Hills on the evening of Wednesday 3rd of July. As with every year, the dinner provides guests with an opportunity to network among library professionals, whilst enjoying the gastronomical delights of the host country. Book your spot today!
Please be aware that attendance at the dinner is not included in your registration fee. A separate reservation is required and can be made through the registration form. For participants who are registered at the conference, optional services (such as accommodation bookings, transfers, dinner, etc.) will still be available beyond the registration deadline.
PRE-CONFERENCE WORKSHOPS
An integral part of LIBER 2024, the pre-conference Workshops take place on the morning of Wednesday 3rd of July and are open to all interested attendees.
The Workshops are highly interactive sessions that cover the core topics at the heart of LIBER’s work. They are organised by our Working Groups, Project Partners and field organisations / experts.
Highlights this year include a deep dive into Open Educational Resources with the workshop “Enhance the Discoverability of Open Textbooks” organised by the LIBER Educational Resources Working Group and a collaborative study by LIBER and DFFU on libraries’ interdependence with technology providers.

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS: EXECUTIVE BOARD ELECTIONS
Candidates for an Executive Board position can now be nominated. More information can be found in the Call for Nominations, and nominations can be submitted by using this form (deadline: Thursday 19 June). If you want to learn more about joining the LIBER Executive Board, please have a look at our website. The responsibilities of LIBER Executive Board members are explained here.
CALL FOR TELLERS
During the voting session that will be held to elect the new Executive Board members, we will be needing two tellers to help us. If you would like to volunteer, or learn more, please send an email to Anja Smit.
MEETING OF PARTICIPANTS

MEETING OF PARTICIPANTS 2024: HOW TO VOTE
All Institutional and Organisational Participants are welcome to vote on issues to be discussed at the Meeting of Participants taking place on Thursday 4 July 2024 during the Annual Conference. Participants unable to vote in person at the Annual Conference can vote by proxy. The application form to do so can be found here.
If you are the official representative of your organisation and have the right to vote, please indicate this in the registration form for the 2024 LIBER Annual Conference. You will get your voting slips at the registration desk.
LIBER WINTER EVENT 2024 – SAVE THE DATE!
We are happy to announce that the 2024 edition of the Winter Event will take place at the University of Maribor Library, Slovenia, the 26th and 27th of November 2024. The event will be preceded by a national pre-event in collaboration with the Slovenian Library Association, on November 25th, 2024. Save the dates in your calendars!
The call for proposals will be published soon after the LIBER Annual Conference.
EVALUATION REPORT
LIBER EMERGING LEADERS PROGRAMME 2011 – 2023 The LIBER Emerging Leaders Programme (ELP), initiated by the LIBER Leadership Programmes Working Group (WG), designed to train and prepare the next generation of leaders in European research libraries, has been running since 2011. The Leadership Programme had reached a point where it should be evaluated. May 2024 the evaluation report was published, containing a set of joint suggestions for the future of the LIBER Emerging Leaders Programme. The evaluation will be used to redesign the Leadership Programme for the future and adapt to developments in Libraries and Leadership. The Evaluation Report can be read here.
The call for participants for Cohort 7 of the ELP will be published in summer 2024.
